Senate Proposal Would Expand Use of HSAs
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has introduced the Health Marketplace and Savings Accounts for All Act. According to a press release, the bill would do the following.
- Make Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) available to all Americans, regardless of income level or current insurance coverage.
- Raise the maximum annual HSA contribution to $24,500 for 2026. The HSA limit for 2026 has been set at $4,400 for individuals and $8,750 for family coverage.
- Expand eligible HSA expenses to include health insurance premiums, vitamins and dietary supplements, gym memberships, and wearable fitness trackers.
The bill would also make several reforms to Association Health Plans.
