The Senate voted to approve the nomination of Ken Kies as the assistant secretary for tax policy at the Treasury by a vote of 53-45. Mr. Kies has been the managing director of the Federal Policy Group, LLC, providing advice on tax policy matters. Prior to that Mr. Kies has also served as chief of staff on the Joint Committee on Taxation and chief tax counsel on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
