Enhanced Trump Account Enrollment for Newborns Introduced

Senators Shelley Capito (R-WV) and Jim Justice (R-WV) have introduced S. 5243, to provide for the automatic establishment of Trump accounts using information collected under the Enumeration at Birth Program (EAB) of the Social Security Administration (SSA). According to a press release, the bill would amend SSAs EAB program to provide for the creation of a Trump Account when a child's birth is registered, streamlining enrollment and increasing access to the program. SSA previously announced that they would be launching processes to leverage EAB for parents to enroll newborns in Trump Accounts. Additional details have not been provided.
