Proposal Expanding 529 Qualified Expenses Introduced
Representative Mike Collins (R-GA) has reintroduced H.R. 1818, the Aviation Workforce Development Act. According to a press release, the bill would make training at FAA-certified commercial pilot and aircraft maintenance technician schools a qualified expense for 529 college savings plans.

IRS Announces Deadline Relief for West Virginia Storm Victims
The IRS has announced the postponement of certain tax-related deadlines for victims of West Virginia severe storms, straight-lined winds, flooding, landslides and mudslides until November 3, 2025. The tax relief postpones various tax filing deadlines that began on February 15, 2025. Affected individuals and households who reside or have a business in Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Wayne and Wyoming counties, as well as taxpayers with records located in the covered area that are needed to meet covered deadlines, qualify for relief.

Proposal Expanding HSA Access Re-introduced in House
Representatives Greg Steube (R-FL) and co-sponsor Kat Cammack (R-FL) have introduced H.R. 1157, the Affordable Care and Comprehensive Economic Support through Savings (ACCESS) Act. According to a press release, the proposal would allow individuals to elect to receive contributions to a health savings account (HSA) in lieu of reduced cost-sharing under health insurance obtained through a health insurance exchange.
