November 11, 2009 – The IRS has issued its 2009 instructions for Form 945, Annual Return of Withheld Federal Income Tax. The form is used by payers, such as banks, credit unions, and other financial organizations, that withhold amounts from IRA and retirement plan distributions for income tax purposes. The instructions introduce a new procedure and form (Form 945-X) for correcting Form 945 errors.
